G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Welder I to set up and operate welding equipment for high-strength, pressure, and aesthetically demanding subassemblies. You will perform Mig and Tig welding, inspect outcomes, and document work while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, about one year of welding training, and ability to read drawings and BOMs; basic computer skills and willingness to train others.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of formal welding training or equivalent experience.
• 0-1 year of manufacturing work experience preferred; able to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform basic Mig and Tig welding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment and atmospheric control for complex welding.
• Perform Mig/Tig welding on varied metals and alloys.
• Inspect finished work for quality and conformance to specs.
• Document actions and maintain production/quality forms.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and train others as needed.
