Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Welder II to join a busy manufacturing facility in Bolingbrook, IL. You will weld and assemble subassemblies, read drawings, and maintain a safe work environment while performing MIG and TIG welding in multiple positions.

The role requires 3 years welding experience in manufacturing, plus ability to use hand tools, oxyacetylene and welding equipment. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and a stable, long-term career path.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year of formal welding training or equivalent.
• 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipment.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Able to perform MIG and TIG welding in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, square up, fit, weld and tack weld subassemblies and assemblies of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Set up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torch and regulate gas for proper atmospheric control.
• Select electrode size and type, tips and welding rod or wire as required; regulate current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion.
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing to the next operation; document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Train others on proper welding procedures and techniques.
