Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Welder I to set up and operate welding equipment and atmospheric control systems for high-strength, pressure-rated, and aesthetically demanding subassemblies.

You will assemble, align, and weld using various tools, read drawings, regulate torch pressure, select electrodes, and ensure quality. The role requires safety awareness, teamwork, and basic IT skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of formal welding training or equivalent.
• 0–1 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Able to safely use hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipment.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to perform basic Mig and Tig welding.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld complex subassemblies using precision tools.
• Set up and regulate oxyacetylene torch pressure.
• Perform Mig and Tig welding as required.
• Inspect work and ensure it meets requirements.
• Document production and quality forms.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
