Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Welcome Desk associate to provide world-class customer service to the community, handling POS transactions and CCMS functions with courtesy and a hospitable, Christian attitude.

You will greet visitors, answer emails and calls, and direct inquiries to the appropriate program staff, while maintaining confidentiality of client information and following all laws and policies. Bilingual ability is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in customer service and cash handling.
• Must have excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office; cash handling and register sales experience valued.
• Must have strong English communication skills; Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Must comply with business, employment and copyright laws.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information.

Responsibilities

• Provide world class customer service to the community; prompt and courteous service with Christian hospitality.
• Perform POS transactions/CCMS at the Welcome Desk.
• Perform Welcome Desk duties.
• Serve customers, clients and membership.
• Receive and handle incoming calls, greet visitors and respond to emails politely.
• Direct calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner.
