Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Family Store Associate to deliver excellent customer service, operate a cash register, and keep the store clean, organized and secure.

You will assist customers with purchases and donations, balance the cash drawer, help set up displays, price unmarked items, and ensure a welcoming, well-maintained shopping environment for every visitor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in retail store preferred.
• Able to operate a cash register and count change.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing items via POS system.
• Operate cash register, accept payment and make change.
• Balance cash drawer and assist in bank deposits as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and security of the store.
• Assist customers donating items and display merchandise to promote sales.
