Job summary

YMCA welcomes a Welcome Center Team Member who will be the friendly first impression for members, guests and program participants. You actively greet visitors, assist with inquiries, and handle basic front-desk tasks, including opening/closing the facility and key-holding duties.

You will deliver excellent service, conduct cause-driven tours, and support member retention while upholding the YMCA's mission and values.

Qualifications

Minimum age 16.
Experience in customer service.
Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Organized and able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments.
Excellent listening, speaking and writing skills.
Fosters inclusion and belonging and values differences.

Responsibilities

Actively engage and greet each member/guest who comes into the YMCA.
Open or close the facility and perform key-holding duties.
Provide excellent service to members, guests, and participants by phone and in person.
Offer cause-driven tours to prospective members and listen first during tours.
Follow branch protocols for prospective members and stay informed on branch activities.
Address membership concerns and escalate unresolved issues to supervisor.
Reconcile end-of-shift money from memberships, merchandise and registrations.
Promote the YMCA’s mission, wellness philosophy and community impact.
Set an example by living the Y’s values with participants, staff and guests.
Represent the Y and its culture as an ambassador and storyteller.
Complete other duties as assigned.
