Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostic repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will handle electrical, braking, cooling systems, and engine diagnostics while maintaining tools and the company truck.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with related experience (3–5 years) and ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months. DOT background checks and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience, or 5 years of related field experience.
• Possess a basic set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy trucks in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on fleet vehicles.
• Inspect and test equipment; road test to verify repairs.
• Maintain the service truck and stock; manage parts with approvals from management.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
