Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice in a PRN, remote-weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7am–7:30pm). The role supports outpatient care, triage, and care coordination in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic setting.

The RN provides exams assistance, administers medications and immunizations, documents in the EHR, and coordinates referrals and follow-up with physicians and staff to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license required; NCLEX-RN completed.
• Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Coordinates referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Supports population health outreach and patient education.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and stocked ambulatory clinic environment.
• Documents care in the electronic health record.
