Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice. This remote weekend day shift role (Sat, Sun, Mon) from 7am-7:30pm supports outpatient care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic.

The RN provides nursing care, triage, education, and care coordination, while documenting in the electronic health record and coordinating with physicians and staff. ADN required; BSN preferred; RN license and NCLEX-RN required; AMB-BC preferred.

Qualifications

• Ambulatory nursing experience and triage skills are required or preferred.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management, prevention, and immunizations.
• Strong patient education and care coordination.
• Effective telephone and message triage.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Support population health outreach and documentation in the electronic health record.

Education

ADN required

BSN preferred
