Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice in a remote Weekend Day Shift role (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7am–7:30pm). The RN provides care in an outpatient physician practice or ambulatory clinic, assisting with examinations, triage, medications, and patient education while coordinating with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• An ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• 1-2 years ambulatory/clinic nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license required and NCLEX-RN completed.
• Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients in person and by phone and provide timely triage.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and care continuity.
• Document care in the electronic health record and support population health outreach.
