Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice, working a remote weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon – 7am-7:30pm). The role focuses on nursing care in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic, triage, procedures, immunizations, and patient education, with strong care coordination.

The RN supports population health outreach, documents in the EHR, and collaborates with physicians and office staff to keep the practice safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX-RN completed.
• AMB-BC certification preferred; strong triage and education skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients in person and by phone and assist with examinations.
• Administer medications and immunizations; support procedures.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up; maintain care continuity.
• Provide patient education and population health outreach.
• Document care in the electronic health record and ensure safety.
