Sentara Health is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for a physician practice in a remote weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7am-7:30pm). The RN provides care in outpatient clinics, administers medications and vaccines, and coordinates with physicians and staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.

The role emphasizes triage, patient education, and chronic disease management, with an emphasis on documentation in the EHR and population health outreach.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1-2 years ambulatory/clinic/medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Current state RN license required; NCLEX-RN required.
• AMB-BC certification preferred.
• Ambulatory assessment and triage; patient education and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Support prevention and population health outreach.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
