Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Patient Access professional to verify insurance, register patients, and support billing. You will communicate with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to obtain information and ensure payment of hospital accounts.

The role requires at least 1 year of healthcare or related clerical experience; a high school diploma is required. Preferred CPAR/CHAA certification; travel between locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare clerical, accounting, or customer service preferred.
• CPAR or CHAA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of patient registration and insurance verification systems.

Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic and financial information and enters data for registration, billing, and tracking.
• Verifies insurance coverage and authorizations as applicable.
• Explains financial requirements and collects deposits or deductibles as needed.
• Serves as liaison between patient, family, and staff to minimize delays and denials.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates referrals and testing as required.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and supports daily office operations.
