Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience; 2 years preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) required.
• Fluency in English required; strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify demographic information and insurance data.
• Verify insurance benefits and correct payor information in the patient accounting system.
• Obtain signatures on required forms and consents.
• Assist with collecting out-of-pocket payments and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
• Answer phones professionally and route messages to appropriate staff.
• Maintain medical records and ensure proper filing and scanning of documents.
• Coordinate patient transfers between facilities when needed.
