Job summary

Cox Fleet in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections and PMs on a mobile fleet. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, and conduct road tests to ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities include managing parts, documenting work in the TRAIT system, and complying with DOT regulations. A strong background in diesel techs and ASE T8 readiness is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years’ related experience; alternative: 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must possess hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months; DOT/FMCSA requirements apply with background/DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on diesel trucks.
• Inspect, test, and verify vehicle performance; drive tests to ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company-issued service vehicle and toolset.
• Document findings and upload RO pictures using iOS TRAIT app and company standards.
