Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator for the Peace Hospital weekend shift (7a-7p) in Louisville. You will plan, organize and implement structured therapeutic activities for diverse patient populations, collaborating with nursing and physician teams to sustain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in counseling psychology or related field (or 5 years of clinical experience); a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related health field required.
• In lieu of degree, at least 5 years clinical experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement structured therapeutic program activities for patients on assigned unit and shift.
• Lead and support unit staff to maintain a therapeutic milieu in collaboration with nursing leadership.
• Respond to crises and de-escalate situations during assigned shift; follow policy procedures.
• Coordinate with families, physicians and care teams regarding patient needs.
• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living and patient care as needed.
• Ensure patient rights are maintained and confidentiality upheld.
