Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize, and coordinate structured therapeutic activities for patients on a shift basis. The role covers pediatrics to geriatrics and requires strong leadership to create a safe, therapeutic milieu while collaborating with nursing, physicians, and families.

Education requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology, psychology or related health field (required).
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in the unit, program and field (in lieu of degree).
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology or related behavioral health field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu and initiates structured interventions to engage patients.
• Provides leadership and guidance to unit staff regarding programming and interventions.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and de-escalates when needed.
• Coordinates and communicates with patients, families, physicians and related health disciplines.
