Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients on a designated shift across pediatrics to geriatrics. Responsibilities include leading unit staff, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and collaboration to maintain safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related health field is required.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, at least 5 years of clinical experience in the unit/program.
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology or related behavioral health field preferred.
• Active driver’s license may be required by department operations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and crisis intervention training required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu and initiates structured interventions to engage patients and meet needs.
• Provides leadership to unit staff in collaboration with nursing leadership for programming.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment and de-escalates situations as needed.
• Develops, implements, and utilizes therapeutic milieu activities and interventions.
• Intervenes to facilitate crisis management and responds to codes on the unit.
• Assists nursing staff with ADLs and patient care tasks as needed.
