Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize, and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients across units and shifts. You will coordinate with nursing leadership to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and provide leadership to staff.

The role requires advanced communication, crisis intervention skills, and ability to advocate for patients while guiding interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care across pediatric to geriatric

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree counseling psychology, psychology or other closely related health degree (required)
• A minimum of 5 years clinical experience if no Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s degree preferred in counseling psychology or related behavioral health degree.

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu and ensures patient rights are upheld.
• Provides leadership to unit staff related to programming and interventions.
• Maintains safe, therapeutic environment and uses de-escalation techniques.
• Implements therapeutic milieu activities and interventions.
• Intervenes for crisis situations and coordinates with staff.
• Assists nursing staff with patient care tasks and daily living activities.
• Coordinates communication with patients, families, physicians and health disciplines regarding patient needs.
