Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a Program Coordinator for Peace Hospital in Louisville, KY. The role leads structured therapeutic activities across a ward, guiding staff and engaging patients in a safe, therapeutic milieu across day shifts.

Involves crisis response, patient advocacy, and collaboration with families and physicians. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in counseling psychology (or related health field); a Master’s preferred; 5+ years of clinical experience if no bachelor’s; and BLS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree counseling psychology, psychology or other closely related health degree (required)
• In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 5 years clinical experience specific to unit, program and field
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology, psychology or other closely related behavioral health degree (preferred)
• Active drivers license authorization (if required by position/department operations)

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu to identify need to initiate structured interventions and acts as patient advocate
• Provides leadership to unit staff in programming and interventions to achieve a therapeutic milieu
• Maintains safe and therapeutic environment, de-escalating as needed
• Participates in development, implementation and utilization of therapeutic milieu activities
• Intervenes for crisis intervention or conflict resolution within the unit milieu during assigned shift
• Assists nursing staff with functions to support patient care, including ADLs as needed
• Coordinates and communicates with patients, families, physicians and other health disciplines regarding program interventions and activities
