Job summary

Stantec in the Mid-Atlantic seeks a Project Manager with water/wastewater infrastructure expertise for a hybrid role based out of VA/DC offices. You’ll lead design reviews, coordinate teams, mentor staff, manage budgets, and drive proposals and BD efforts to grow the water practice.

You’ll oversee pumping stations, treatment plants, and distribution systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining strong client relationships and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or able to obtain within 12 months.
• 8+ years of water and wastewater infrastructure experience.
• Strong project management and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as project lead for water/wastewater design and construction oversight.
• Coordinate internal teams and external consultants, owners, and vendors.
• Mentor junior staff and set scope, budgets, and schedules for tasks.
• Lead design reviews, analyses, and evaluation of alternatives for business cases.
• Support proposals, client interviews, and business development activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering

Professional Engineer license (PE) or ability to obtain within 12 months
