Job summary

City of Victoria seeks a Surface Water Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance and repair on pumps, motors and related water treatment equipment at facilities across the city.

Under supervision, you will follow work orders, conduct preventative maintenance, test operations, and document activities while prioritizing safety. The role requires on-site work at various locations and adherence to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventative maintenance on pumps and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
• Strong safety culture and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meets with supervisors to obtain daily tasks and work orders.
• Performs preventative maintenance on water pumps and chemical pumps; conducts inspections to identify repair needs.
• Tests operations and troubleshoots pump issues.
• Cleans algae and debris from basins.
• Maintains inventory of parts and tools.
• Performs related duties as required.
