Job summary

City of Victoria is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician 2 to perform skilled maintenance on wastewater equipment and lead a crew when the supervisor is absent. The role involves inspections, ordering parts, training staff, and coordinating maintenance across lift stations and related systems.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems, and maintaining safety practices including lockout/tagout.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement, with a minimum of a Class D Wastewater license with the ability to upgrade to a Class C Wastewater license within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Industrial electrical practices and control wiring.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair methods.
• Methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical trades.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Crew in absence of Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform continual inspections of operations and activities to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective solutions.
• Inform supervisor of hazards, issues, and status of work.
• Assist supervisor in determining purchasing needs and securing quotes.
• Recommend items, supplies, tools, and equipment for wastewater operations.
• Instruct workers on the most efficient methods to accomplish assignments.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections at lift stations and related structures.
