Job summary

City of East Point seeks a maintenance technician for our Water Treatment Plant to perform supervision, preventive maintenance, and hands-on repairs of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment. The role includes on-call emergency support and coordination with vendors.

You will work with staff to ensure safe, reliable water production and adherence to regulatory standards while maintaining equipment and facilities across pumping stations and storage tanks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid State of Georgia Driver's license.
• Ability to supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow AWWA regulations.
• Assist in developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program.
• Perform manual tasks related to plant maintenance, pumping stations and storage tanks.
• Respond to on-call emergencies and perform minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems; assist electricians with high voltage work.
• Monitor parts availability and replenish supplies.
• Use hand tools such as pipe-wrench, hammer, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes.
• Assist supervisor with equipment diagnostics and assignments.
