Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Senior Water Engineer/Practice Leader to drive technical excellence and business development in Virginia. The role combines leadership of dam and water resources projects with growth initiatives across Western Virginia and surrounding areas.

The position supports hybrid work with periodic office visits in Charlottesville and regional offices, and requires overnight travel 10–20% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in civil/geotechnical engineering with an emphasis on water resources.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial attitude and ability to generate new work and grow a business.
• Professional Engineering license required (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead growth in Virginia Water Resource market and manage projects and staff.
• Provide technical leadership on dams, levees, and water control structures.
• Travel overnight ~10–20% and support federal, state, and local agencies.
• Develop business through client relations, events, and cross-selling services.
• Mentor staff and uphold company culture and values.
