Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Virginia seeks Practice Leaders in Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources, Engineering and Civil Engineering to drive growth in Richmond/Charlottesville.

Report to the Washington, DC area Branch Manager and lead technical projects. Responsibilities include leading proposals, expanding client relationships, mentoring staff, and ensuring GEI's health, safety and quality standards while traveling across the region.

Qualifications

• Successful track record as a Seller-Doer with strong client relationships.
• Senior leader with risk management and engineering contract experience.
• Ability to identify and lead engineering project opportunities in the region.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and growing staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects financially and technically.
• Identify and attract business development opportunities within the practice; identify key clients and growth strategy.
• Lead proposal efforts responding to public and private RFPs.
• Partner with marketing to develop GEI branding within practice.
• Enhance staff development and serve as a technical and professional resource.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality and safety standards are followed.
• Participate in professional groups to foster client relationships in geotechnical, water resources, and civil engineering.
• Travel between Richmond, Charlottesville, DC area, and Rockville offices as needed.
