Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Engineer/Practice Leader in Virginia to drive technical excellence and market growth in Water Resource services.

The role blends leadership with client development, managing complex dam, levee, and water conveyance projects across civil/geotechnical domains. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years in civil/geotechnical engineering, PE licensure, and a proven track record of expanding client bases and delivering multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering; MS preferred.
• 12+ years in civil/geotechnical engineering with 10+ years in project management.
• PE license required.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial attitude with ability to generate new work and grow a business segment.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth in the Water Resource market for Western Virginia and surrounding areas.
• Manage projects and staff with technical leadership, oversight, and mentoring.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through regular market engagement and industry events.
• Provide technical assistance and project management for dams, levees, and water control structures.
• Assist in recruiting and training additional staff.
• Travel 10–20% overnight.
