Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Professional Services Director for its Water Business Group. The role aligns technical practice groups, strengthens delivery standards, and drives quality across complex programs to support public health and infrastructure resilience.

Reporting to the WBG President, you will lead staff development, promote new delivery technologies, and partner with operations, market sector, and leaders to advance HDR as a global architecture leader. Primary Location: multiple US sites.

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in leading and developing technical teams and practices.
• Maintain AEC industry associations and active participation in employee-owned culture.
• Strong quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement track record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor the development and training of staff in technical, professional, business, and service delivery competencies.
• Develop approaches to new technologies, digital delivery methods, and service areas.
• Lead evaluation, implementation, and adoption of professional services technologies and tools to improve quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate staff training on company policies, processes, and risk management.
• Drive continuous improvement with technical standards, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Support recruiting, hiring, retaining, and developing key staff; coordinate with leadership across groups.
