Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Business Group Professional Services Director who will provide executive leadership for technical quality and project delivery. This role aligns technical practice groups, strengthens delivery capabilities, and ensures consistent standards across HDR’s matrix organization.

The position reports to the WBG President and focuses on delivering high-quality outcomes for public health and infrastructure resilience through professional services excellence.

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in managing and developing technical teams and practices.
• Maintain AEC industry associations.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture and HDR values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor development and training of staff in technical, professional and delivery competencies.
• Develop approaches to new technologies and digital delivery methods.
• Evaluate, implement, and adopt professional services technologies and delivery tools.
• Coordinate staff training on policies, processes, risk management and quality.
• Lead continuous improvement with technical standards and best practices.
• Support recruitment, staffing, workload balancing, and engagement across groups.
• Collaborate with Project Delivery, Program Management, and Alternative Delivery programs.
