Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Business Group Professional Services Director to lead technical quality, project delivery excellence, and professional practice across the matrix organization in the United States. The role aligns technical disciplines, strengthens delivery capabilities, and drives standards that improve client outcomes.

Reporting to the WBG President, you will mentor staff, guide digital delivery initiatives, and foster collaboration with operations, market sectors, and technology

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in engineering leadership or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing technical teams and practices.
• Maintain AEC industry associations.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor development and training of staff in technical, professional, business, and service delivery competencies.
• Coordinate and monitor staff training on company policies and processes including safety, risk management, quality, and service delivery.
• Lead continuous improvement through QA/QC programs and standard setting across the business group.
• Support recruitment, staffing, and development of key personnel; balance workload and resources.
• Collaborate with operations, marketing, and technology leadership to advance delivery strategies.
