Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Business Group Professional Services Director to provide executive leadership for technical quality, delivery excellence, and professional practice. The role aligns practice groups, strengthens delivery capabilities, and advances standards that improve client outcomes across HDR’s global network.

Reporting to the WBG President, you will lead staff development, champion continuous improvement, and partner with operations, marketing, and technology leadership to position HDR

Qualifications

• Maintains a professional engineering registration with extensive related technical expertise.
• Leadership and management of professional services and delivery teams on complex programs.
• Proven ability to mentor diverse technical and service delivery teams.
• Ability to collaborate with company leadership, operations, and marketing on delivery initiatives.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC, risk management, and continuous improvement.
• Executive presence with strong communication across audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and HDR values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor development/training of staff in technical, professional, business, and service delivery competencies.
• Develop approaches to new technologies, digital delivery methods, and service areas.
• Lead evaluation and adoption of delivery technologies and tools to improve quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate staff training on company policies and processes.
• Lead continuous improvement and development of technical standards and best practices.
• Support practice groups, project teams, and company initiatives related to productivity and policy alignment.
• Partner with program/project delivery services including PM, CM, and owner’s advisor services.
• Develop technical/delivery approaches and risk management for strategic initiatives and major programs.
• Lead QA/QC program activities to ensure delivery quality and continuous improvement.
• Monitor QC reviews and resolutions of project issues.
• Facilitate use of Professional Associates in delivery, mentoring, and technology adoption.
• Support recruiting, staffing, and engagement with technical/associations; cross-group collaboration.
