Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two years of meter reading, installation or maintenance experience.
• Equivalent education/training providing the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responds to service or complaint requests regarding meter operations; troubleshoots, calibrates meters when needed and educates customers on policies and procedures.
• Installs, cleans, maintains and replaces water meters; locates meters; replaces defective parts and repairs leaks; performs routine maintenance.
• Connects new or re-established water services; installs and connects meters; disconnects delinquent accounts; leaves notices for customers.
• Uses assigned vehicle to travel to service locations; uses GPS maps or books to locate addresses; maintains trip logs.
• Maintains and updates customer information in departmental systems; enters data on inspections, repairs, and requests.
