Job summary

Cobb County Government in Georgia seeks a Water Meter Technician to read, install, repair, and test water meters (3/4" to 10"). You will support accurate billing by verifying meter operation and flow.

You will investigate customer complaints, locate meters, connect/disconnect services, perform repairs, maintain equipment inventory, and document activities. Requires High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, plus two years of experience repairing and maintaining water meters.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding water meters and issues such as leaks and high bills.
• Locate and read commercial water meters; record data and ensure accuracy for billing.
• Connect and disconnect services; ensure meters are leak-free and readings are captured.
• Perform general and more complex repair work on meters and related infrastructure.
• Repair water service lines and maintain all related forms and documentation.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies used for meter maintenance.
