Job summary

HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to lead the wastewater treatment and effluent management practice, directing technical teams and guiding project delivery across HDR’s nationwide operations. The role emphasizes risk management, strategic planning, and client engagement to advance HDR's water initiatives.

You will mentor senior engineers, coordinate with market sectors and operations, manage staffing, and participate in research collaborations with universities and industry groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration in Architecture/Engineering for technical design leadership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships and coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management through process and resource reviews and claims prevention activities.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the WBG Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Oversee staffing assignments and effective use of worksharing across projects.
• Collaborate with market sector directors to develop strategic plans for the business class.
• Lead applied research initiatives and industry engagement to advance WTEM capabilities.
