Job summary

HDR is seeking a heavily experienced Business Class Director for Wastewater and Effluent Management (WWEM). The role focuses on leadership of technical capabilities, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic development across HDR’s global practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Professional registration in Architecture/Engineering for leadership roles overseeing core design services.
• Proven ability to develop and manage diverse, high-performing teams.
• Experience working with other HDR business class directors and marketing managers on joint efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Coordinate with related business classes, market sectors and operations.
• Lead technical risk management and ensure quality assurance across projects.
• Oversee development and application of tools, standards and techniques to improve service quality.
• Assign qualified staff to projects and manage staffing resources effectively.
• Contribute to strategic planning and client-facing brand elevation at national and regional levels.
• Mentor technical leaders and support project pursuits and knowledge sharing.
