Job summary

GBA Companies is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Wastewater Group in Lenexa, KS for the summer. The intern will gain hands-on experience across water-related infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative learning environment.

In this role you will assist with design and modeling, participate in field inspections, and contribute to plan development while leveraging Civil3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel preferred.
• Minimum 2.7 GPA strongly preferred.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework.
• Prior internship or related experience is a plus.
• Involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and modeling using Civil3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Support quality control processes and follow client design standards.
• Assist with design calculations and plan development.
• Participate in field assignments and inspections.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
