Job summary

GBA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Transportation Group for the summer in Lenexa, KS. This internship offers hands-on experience across roadway, highway, and bridge design with mentorship from experienced engineers in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

You will assist with design and 3D modeling, quality control, calculations, quantities, and field inspections while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and exploring different transportation engineering

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
• CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and 3D modeling of roadway corridors.
• Support quality control processes and follow client design standards.
• Assist with design calculations and geometric layout.
• Help prepare plan quantities and cost estimates.
• Participate in field assignments such as construction inspections.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
