Job summary

Westwood Professional Services in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to support the design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, from pipelines to treatment plants. You will apply civil/environmental coursework to real-world public utility projects.

You will learn industry standards, assist with pipeline plans, models and construction documents, and build proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and related software while interfacing with clients and field

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing water and sewer pipeline plans and details.
Use AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and related software to produce drawings.
Support hydraulic modeling and capacity analyses for water distribution and wastewater systems.
Help prepare permits, specifications, and design reports for state environmental agencies.
Coordinate with internal and external team members to track progress and address client concerns.
Travel to project sites to gather field data and interface with clients and public utility staff.
