Job summary

Black & Veatch invites applications for a Summer Intern to support civil engineering projects focused on water and wastewater infrastructure. This role offers exposure to multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations, including Kansas City, MO, and nearby sites.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical.
• Able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background, drug screen, MVR) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and apply departmental design guides, standards, and policies.
• Coordinate with project teams to support design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and materials selection.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
• Assist with developing project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
• Develop knowledge of engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
