Job summary

SEH is seeking a Wastewater Intern to join our Water/Wastewater team. This opportunity offers hands-on experience on municipal wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment projects, both in the field and in the office, with a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

You will assist with construction observation, project development, planning, design, and construction administration while communicating with staff, contractors, and clients. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related undergraduate program.
• Reliable transportation to travel to/from the office and nearby project sites during the summer 2027 season.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, site visits, construction inspections, and facility assessments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist field staff with construction observation of lift stations, force mains, gravity sewers, and treatment facility improvements.
• Assist project managers and engineers with wastewater project development, planning, design, and construction administration with effective communication.
• Draft project information using AutoCAD and related software for wastewater collection systems, treatment facilities, and utility infrastructure.
• Gain hands-on experience with municipal wastewater systems, including sanitary sewer rehabilitation, pump stations, treatment process improvements, and regulatory compliance projects.
