Job summary

Republic Services in Edwardsville, IL is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, loading, spreading, and compacting waste or soil. Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service on equipment and report repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other necessary documentation.
• Follow safety policies and keep shop clean.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
