Job summary

Republic Services is hiring for an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. The role includes pre/post inspections, equipment operation (forklift/excavator/front-end loader), waste monitoring, and basic servicing while following all safety policies.

Ideal candidates have two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA site familiarity, with a strong focus on customer service and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• OSHA-site experience is preferred.
• Good customer services skills; professional, courteous and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure safety standards.
• Maintain equipment readiness and perform minor servicing; report major repairs.
• Keep the shop clean and assist with shift handover and documentation.
