Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. Responsibilities include loading, spreading, covering and compacting waste or soil, with pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure safety and efficiency.

Two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA-site familiarity are required, along with strong customer service, time management and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment and ensure safety compliance.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and maintain equipment readiness to minimize down time.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, serviced shop at shift end and follow safety policies.
