Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil efficiently while following safety policies.

Two years in heavy equipment and one year on OSHA-regulated sites are required. The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork and adherence to company safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of work at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to adhere to safety standards and company policies.
• Demonstrated reliability and teamwork in a field setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is clean.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and maintain safety.
• Keep equipment in good condition to minimize downtime and clean as needed.
• Document minor service and report necessary repairs to maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required forms.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean after shifts.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
