Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, including transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil. The role requires pre- and post-operation inspections and strict adherence to safety standards.

You will operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader; monitor waste streams and report maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste materials for unacceptable content and report issues to supervision.
• Perform minor routine service and maintenance; refer major repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete equipment condition reports and other required documentation.
