Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station. The role includes transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil in a safe and efficient manner.

The position requires routine pre- and post-operation inspections, adherence to safety policies, and coordination with maintenance for repairs. Applicants should have prior heavy equipment experience and familiarity with OSHA-regulated sites.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for acceptable materials and report any issues.
• Perform minor service on equipment and refer major issues for repair? maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports; report repairs to supervisor.
