Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate machinery at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations. You will conduct pre- and post-operation checks, monitor waste quality, and ensure equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include basic service tasks and timely reporting of issues, all while upholding safety standards. The role requires related experience and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Document routine maintenance and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
• Follow safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
