Job summary

Anne Arundel County, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Bureau of Waste Management Services. The role focuses on identifying hazardous conditions, investigating incidents, and implementing safety programs for county operations.

The position requires a four-year degree in safety management and at least one year in risk management or safety training, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in safety management and program development.
• One (1) or more years of experience in risk management, safety education, or training.
• A valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazardous workplace conditions and investigate injuries and accidents.
• Develop and implement programs to reduce risk exposure in compliance with OSHA and MOSH regulations.
• Conduct safety and security inspections and recommend practical solutions.
• Plan, develop, and present safety training materials to a wide group of stakeholders.
• Serve as SME for regulatory requirements and ensure unit deliverables are met.
• Assist in developing safety policies, procedures, and emergency operation plans.
