Job summary

Center for Digital Government seeks a Safety Coordinator for Anne Arundel County DPW to support Bureau of Waste Management Services. You will identify hazardous conditions, investigate injuries, and develop programs to reduce risk while ensuring compliance with OSHA and MOSH regulations.

Responsibilities include training delivery, policy development, and coordinating safety equipment and records. Requires a four-year safety-related degree and at least one year of risk management or training

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in safety management and program development.
• One year or more of experience in risk management, safety education, or training.
• A valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
• Note: substitutions may apply for education vs experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace accident and incident investigations and safety inspections; recommend practical solutions to hazards.
• Identify safety and security training needs; develop and present training materials for a wide group of stakeholders.
• Assist in development of safety and security policies, emergency operation plans, and industrial safety plans; implement program elements as directed.
• Advise operating units on hazardous field conditions; suspend field operations when danger is imminent.
• Coordinate protective equipment programs and ensure OSHA & MOSH compliance.
• Review incident reports and interview employees to determine corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain required reports, statistics, and records.
