Job summary

Duke Energy is offering an internship through its Waste and Groundwater Programs within Environmental, Health, and Safety. The program provides hands-on experience on real-world projects, with mentorship and opportunities to work across multiple locations in the footprint.

Interns engage in analytical tasks, regulatory reporting, and coordination with laboratories and site teams. A focus on communication, teamwork and leadership is emphasized throughout the internship period.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and pursuing ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil, Chemical, and/or Environmental Engineering.
• Must not graduate prior to August 2027.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist environmental professionals with review and management of analytical and compliance data.
• Prepare reports, plans, procedures, and regulatory submittals.
• Evaluate monitoring results and coordinate with laboratories, site personnel, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Support waste characterization and disposal activities and other related tasks.
